Sorry about that, my phone was dead by the time I thought of it last night. Here is a pic of the laundry center. |

And here is a close up of the dryer timer. It has 3 cycles, and once you start the dryer it will continue to advance through all three endlessly until you open the dryer door, which finally shuts off the dryer. |

A WCI/Frigidaire source unit.
Hmmm... When she opens the door to stop operation, does the timer continue to rotate once the door is closed again? My first suspect would be a stuck contact in the timer. However, the wiring diagram might point to other sources of failure. Like a thermostat issue... Malcolm |

I agree that this is a timer issue. If it were a thermostat, that could make the timer run completely through an automatic cycle, but it should still stop at the 'OFF' points.
This sounds like the timer has actually broken and is not breaking the circuit to the timer motor at the 'OFF'. Once a model number is found, we can start looking for sources of the timer. There are often some good bargains on ebay for the price conscious. Did you look under the lid of the washer for a unit model number, or inside the door of the dryer? Gordon |

Indexing tub is normal for the washer. I have a stack unit that's similar to it. The model number on mine is on the dryer door right next to the door latch. |
