As some may know have been trying to find an older WP stacking rack for their older portable W&D sets but no luck. Local NYC area seller has the whole thing but won't sell rack without units. Most certainly do NOT need the washer (just sold mine to a fellow member), and with two dryers don't need a third. Most certainly do not have the room to collect the entire set and store the W&D until they can be moved on.

Anyone?

Needed to make room for the AEG set.

Since he asks $100 for the set, couldn't you buy the set and leave him the machines to sell for someone else? Since he's local, it's probably still cheaper than buying one further and have it shipped.

I saw this on Kijiji, the ad says "almost new" so I'm wondering if they are still available new?

Almost New

In our humble opinion often is in the eyes of the beholder. My AEG set was/is "almost new", but have seen appliances live and on eBay that have only a passing glace of "new". In fact they have passed so far they can see *new* clearly in their rear view mirror.

Seller was *ahem* rather straight forward, he wants them gone, totally, end of story, period. If one had the room to store yes, would pick up the units and find uses or a home for the extra washer and dryer later. But with the AEG sets' arrival space is something I just don't have at the moment.

Unless by "new" the seller means units were barely used, no they are not a recent purchase. Whirlpool lists that rack in the owner's manual for my dryer, but much like the Harvest Gold colour of the 1980's, it is gone. Maybe could have found a NIB one lying about spare in the 1990's, but not now.

Reason one prefers these sort of stands to the later Whirlpool/Kenmore/GE incarnations as they seem more stable. You don't have to bolt the older chrome jobs to the wall (as recommended for new stands), and they do not rely in part on the weight of the washer below to keep them stable. Finally chrome just looks so much more snazzy!

Actually did some housecleaning today and moved the WP and AEG dryer around. Well swapped their spots so now the AEG is out in the middle of the area and the WP is in the nook. With the new vent hose fitted it was a pain to keep tripping over the thing, or to remember to walk around. Sometime this week unless things change am simply going to stack the AEG dryer on top of the WP and be done. Do not want to stack other way round since to get at any sort of repair of the AEG the top must be removed, then if necessary the side panels. As the WP is heavier than the AEG figure it is best this way. Of course if one had the stand none of this would matter.

Would Love To Find One Of Those Stands Shown

In the Kiji link, but alas they as well aren't in the USA and you cannot get anyone is Canada to send for love nor money.

For some odd reason there are tons of various stacking racks for W/D sets up north. Cannot imagine why, but you see several on Kiji, CL and such each week.

Do you think this model would fit? I'm wondering if these could be disassembled for shipping... The one I posted isn't local but if I find something similar around, I'll let you know!

Otherwise, there's another kind in the link below...
