Amana - in washers, it seems aw.org members have no interest - Turbo 210. Four on the floor? Dual overhead cam? Was this a 60's model?

I thought you were joking about the 'turbo'....but it is written on the control panel.....I would want it just for that alone....

Turbo was the buzz word of the late 70's to mid-80's. Can't imagine use of the word much earlier then that.

Anybody know for sure?

Perforated basket SQ washers were introduced in 1980, Amana branded laundry came shortly after, 81-82.   I had one of these side-open lid Amana washers for a while, it was a good washer.  Loud, but still had a recirculating filter and used lots of water in a long, long spray rinse.

My mother had the corresponding dryer to that washer. She bought it in the early mid 80's.

Probably a fore-bear to the Turbo was none-other than the TURBINE...

That is where I can think of a relevance to the evolution of its descendants being heirs of an add-on apparatus designed to produce high-output or create MORE SPEED!
