TOL with the minute minder, however I prefer the controls on the cooktop or hood, not down below or in back of the cooktop.

I gave one of these..

To Ron Jones, we used the Heat Minder switch to fix his pink 58 range.

I wish I had one of these! I've never seen a Custom Imperial cooktop it in Canada.

shipping those isn't too bad, I recall shipping a Hotpoint cooktop a few years ago from somewhere in the Mid-West and it was around $75, they used an old double sink box and it fit just fine.

Roger, I thought about it but since the seller says "Cash Only" in his ad, I don't think he'd be very interested in having it shipped...

Still, I'd like that because this cooktop has the trim kit for flush installation. But as Tom says, it's probably hard to locate the controls in a convenient location with these.

I've fast-talked more than one reluctant "cash only" seller into changing their mind!

Control placement

To me, the best place to locate this type of control is on the wall to the right of the cooktop. For left-handed persons, to the left would be more convenient. The house across the street has the pushbutton controls for the GE cooktop on the wall to the right above the adjacent cabinet. I've also seen them in the top panel of the cabinet below, but not a good idea in homes with children.
