I was looking at real estate listing in Rome, GA today and ran across this one.  The house is cool enough, but check out the kitchen!  The house was built in 1962.  The listing specifically states that the dishwasher is not operable.

Cool GE Kitchen!! I love the range hood with the pushbuttons for the cooktop.

Wonder if there was still a turquoise fridge...

I like the oven, cooktop, hood and sink.

The placement of the dishwasher is strange; it would block the cooktop when open. Don't think I've ever seen anyone's kitchen where the dishwasher was at an angle in the corner.

I really love the wall ovens, cooktop and companion hood!  It appears that the dishwasher is just as original as the other appliances.  Amazing that it's all still there after 51 years.

Does the word "staging" ring a bell?

Then how about the words "straightening up a bit?"

I agree- nice appliances. Staging was done - 50 haphazardly arranged object's of desire(owners only) and Harry Norman was asleep. (they were our last realtor). Would these be a custom added group of 1962 appliances -can't imagine these being a builder grade !

Sandy-
They must have been going for the "lived in" look, although it's a just "to lived in" for comfort. Even the bedrooms have that bit of style and flair. LOL

Circle-
I have seen corner mounted DW's before but it was in a small kitchen. There wasn't any other place to put it.

The corner dishwasher would be OK if there was at least a 21" base cabinet between it and the cooktop.

Love that kitchen, but too much stuff on the counters and kitchen table.

What a kitchen! It is hard to find the cook top with the controls in the range hood... I have it in coppertone in my original kitchen, but they are not in the greatest shape so I would love to upgrade to a unit in better condition, in either coppertone or turquoise. Mine has the sensitemp dial control on the hood, too, which this one does not appear to have. I hope someone saves this kitchen when they buy the house... or at least offer it for sale rather than having Home Depot scrap it and replace it with (scrap) new appliances.

The turquoise and that wood do not look good together, but put some new white cabinets (or fronts) and countertops in and those turquoise appliances would make that kitchen a show piece.

Are these for sale?

Those appliances are not all the same 1962 vintage; the ovens are 3 years older than the other stuff. I wonder how that happened, unless they were a "close-out" from the dealer.
