You can see above the front is a little marked and faded, but the top and controls are minty.

We popped the top and discovered the timer light was missing- interesting effect with a 15w bulb.

Inside it looks pretty clean though there's more tub movement than I'd expect. It should really clean up nicely. Tah Dah!

Nice very nice

What's the little gizmo on the top right of the console?

That is the switch for cold water rinse.

Steve, picked it up today after spotting it last night behind one of the box stores; can't beat free! The first pic is of it in as-found condition. I thought something was funny in the light of the sodium-vapor bulbs, as the front looked white and the top looked beige. Turns out it really is sunny-yellow.

I'd love to post some interior pics but I better give it a decent cleanup. The white tub is nice, but it has that typical accumulation of crud on the top of the outer tub where dust likes to stick indefinitely. Ben says this model should have a tub light, but we didn't immediately see the socket, just the spot where it should snap in so there's some further investigation to be done, though it does have the window in the tub.

This is one I'll definitely bring back to full-glory when I get a chance to catch my breath!

In the model year before this, the yellow was called "Sun-Bright Yellow."

And that it is! Beautiful washer guys, what a great find - this is your month!

Cory, if I may ask, which BIG BOX store did you find this machine. I go to the ones here in Pensacola, but, notta thing ever. Not even a single machine. I thought L***s and H*** D***t did the pick ups and took the machines back to the stores? Maybe this is something I need to learn about.

BTW guys, my Maytag local dealer (Gray's Maytag) here is about done. Business has been sold and my "Watch Dog" who found so many machines for me is gone. Rather sad.

Steve

Steve, I'm sorry for you losing your dealer and am sorry for the dealer losing his business. I drive past a place that had two different Maytag dealers for over 40 years and it's all gone. It's similar to what a lot of Frigidaire dealers went through when their appliances suddenly started coming from Hell. Some were so bitter that they did not even want to say the word Frigidaire.

My Mother has the same washer

As I was a kid my Mother and Father buy the same Maytag in 1962. The motor went out of the machine. She throw the machine out an got a Sears Kenmore Washer in 1970's.
