I Know....

....These machines have their fans, but I still remember when I saw machines without pushbuttons branded "Lady Kenmore" for the first time:

I thought, "Maybe the religious folks are right and the end times are nigh."

Sandy, I pretty much had the same reaction at first-sight. A ghetto LK. Such a come-down. Did not deserve the LK moniker.

Don't look at me - I'm still trying to get my head around the idea of black-console machines being collectible.

I can relate Sandy. The last of these just doesn't seem "old enough" to be considered collectable. Even the last Whirly BDs. Even the last of the 'Tags before they went to the short-stroke tranny, ugh!!!

You're talking to someone who bought a Sears sewing machine with a 25-year warranty, and collected on it only months before it ran out. Sears was not happy with me, to put it very mildly.

I remember thinking, "Jeez, feels like I just bought the thing, and here it is a quarter-century later!"
