For the first time I was stymied last nite! I was well on my way to finishing a Bendix Gyramatic Restoration and when it was done I looked up and there was NO place to put it! NONE!

Now I am playing chinese tile puzzle with my restored machines. Slide the Neptune out , move the ABC slip the Gyramatic in , put the Neptune were the ABC was and gain 2 necessary inches!!

I was in denial (no not that river in Egypt!)that in my heart I have endless room but reality soon comes a knockin'!

OY! or should I say Uh Oh!

I guess you know you are in trouble when you go to bed at night and all you think about are new ways to dig out and under the house!!

Jet

Free the washers

But Jon, there is plenty of room in your Living Room. Free the washers from the basement dungeon!

Yes! The Luigi Foraloysius Memorial guest quarters in my house is the new home to 6 machines now. This leaves me plenty of room in the living room, dining room and kitchen for another 7 machines!

I suggested the dining room last night - did that not work out?

Glad you found room - I need more space too, I wonder how many five-gallon buckets full of dirt are under that garage...

2001 Convention has a lot to answer for!!!!!

chestermikeuk's profile picture
Hi all

Since attending the first convention in 2001 and only owning 3 vacs....I was bitten by the the bug..... now have 73 vacs and 39 washers & dryers.....what my partner says is now unrepeatable....I play a rubics cube puzzle with the garage, take one out and shuffle....Cupboard under the stairs is full and so where the bedrooms wardrobes & cupboards, am sorting the vacs out at the moment...dining room is out of bounds...

The latest addition is ...Wait for it...a Bendix Giromatic...30inches wide...same as a twinny but a lot heavier believe me...

Sooooo Scott, Jet, Louis & others???? you`ll have a lot to play with when you pop over next year!!!!

Am currently in therapy for addiction, compulsive buying of appliances, reciting model numbers in sleep, having plastic surgery for hammer knock, ECT shock therapy for all above .....LOL

AND STILL STILL NO UK HOLY GRAIL...THE FAMOUS MK 41 ALL FABRIC TOP LOADER.....

All contributions, answers or monies for more appliances greatly received....

Yours in denial

Mikey

I have the answer!

It's simple! Just let Bethann adopt a Pink Frigidaire washer and dryer! See then you'll have space for two more!

Wow Mike, I finished looking at your photos and that is quite an impressive collection you have there. UK machines seem very entertaining, especially the Hoovermatics! I would take any one of your washers in a split second--all very cool!

Congratulations on 39 machines as well!

New Album for Bendix

chestermikeuk's profile picture
Hi All

Have put the Bendix model G Auto front loader in a new album called Bendix, missed out last month on the first model we had here, the one Uni has, but it did need a lot of work doing to it.....this one is pristine, just needs the hoses changed...really need to check the gear changer etc but works and runs smooth enough....

Does the US model look the same as this or does it have a different control panel???

Wonderful machine Mike, congratulations. BTW, your Yahoo link isn't working. Are you going to create a sudslock with that Rinso or can it be used in frontloaders.

Wow Peter, that's a nice guestroom. I guess the bed had to go?

Bendix!

My Grandmother had a very simular washer fron the 50's. Their was 2 dials but one on each side and they were gray dials. The right one was the main timer with a soak and regular wash cycles the left one was a water level dial. In the middle was 2 buttons for Hot and Warm temps. I always enjoyed watching the cycles. I cannot access the other pictures.
Real cool machine.

Nice Bendix!!!! My 1950 Gyramatic is a 30 inch machine but is very different looking. I will take pix this weekend for you. I had a 1953 Bendix that has the same cabinet as your machine, John is selling it on ebay right now so you can see it there.

Your door is just like the reverse image of my 1958 Duomatic door! That is in restoration right now thanks to the ever bountiful help of John Eichinger in St Paul! YAY To JOHN!!!!

What year is your machine from??

Can't wait to play next summer!!
"yours in The Nile too"

Nice Bendix Mike, it looks mint! This looks like the same design as the 57-58 Bendix models here in the states.

Mike!!! As you know, I have a soft spot for ANY Bendix. And this one looks brand new. Congrats!!! It's so big, you'd think it was a combo washer/dryer.
