Awesome! Please keep them coming! I am enjoying all them alot! Thanks!
Kevin, I would kill to find something with a lighted console or service lights over here, I have a thing for appliances with "commodity lights" in consoles, tubs, drums etc(is "commodity/service light" the right term?). I think they are great features, I really enjoy their usefulness alot, they're also so charming....so....can't find a proper word...but hope you know what I mean..
All I have with a service light is my beloved mixmaster....and the Proctor silex percolator that I only use in special occasions with guests etc...otherwise it stays safe in the cupboard.
I am going to put a few pics featuring the mixmaster power plus kneading hot dog buns dough, which is the only appliance along with the percolator with commodity lights I own (not the daily driver avocado Silex Made Montgomery wards in this pic) I actually am very ashamed to post it...please don't judge... this is all what I have to share which is near to the subject :(

Anyone got a photo of a 62 Frigidaire Custom Imperial Washer? Those had great lighted consoles.

I love lighted consoles on appliances. They make machines look so much classier.

Now those with incandescent lighting.

I had to include a picture of my favorite fridge and of my newly acquired Miami Carey range hood. I always liked these hoods with glass panels on the front! I have searched for a while to get one and finally got one when I got a second Maytag A806 in a house that was about to be demolished! I still wish I'd find one that's a bit older than this one but that's OK for now!

Really neat lights-the console flourescent bulbs on mine burned out-no bulbs like those to be found in Greenville!
Like the Purple light on the WP machine-at least appears purple on the computer screen I am using. The water depth is great-nice water circulation there-works so much BETTER when the tops of the agitator blades are covered.I question the UV germicidal bulbs in those machines----SW UV light won't penetrate water!Hope washer spectators don't get sunburned faces or scratchy eyes! The SW light can reflect off the water!Wear something over your eyes!SW UV light-germicidal range-can damage your eyes!
Does that Wards washer use a double filter system? The cascading water going into the filter dish via that blue trough like part and then into the agitator lint filter dish.NICE!!And that washers light appears blue on my computer screen.

David, thank you very much!

Phil, yes both the Frigidaire set and the Whirlpool set after it are Patricks (pdub) in Oregon. All of those after that are at Robert & Fred's in Minneapolis.

Freddy, a mixer with a light for the work bowl, how cool is that! I've never seen one of those.

Well, at least what I had photos of handy.  The first is our '63 Frigidaire Deluxe.  The white dryer is our '63 Maytag DE700, which was swapped out a year later for the '62 PDE701.  At some point, I need to get pictures of the matching PA700.

These machines I saw while at Don's (Jetaction) place over Memorial Day weekend, all very neat indeed!

We did do laundry in each of the washers, and ALL are suds savers BTW!   I would have liked to watch the Speed Queen do a suds return, but it wasn't possible in the time I was there.   The dark, narrow oven door on the GE range while hard to see, is stainless.

Hi Dave,

I didn't see that POD you are referring to, but if you go back to the first batch of photos I posted, photo 15 is a TOL 1976 WP Mark 18 pair.  Also in the 2nd batch of photos, pic #4 is a TOL 1968 WP Mark 12 pair.

Are those anything like what you are referring to?

Oops, so sorry!!!! I stand very corrected, my very bad!!!!! There's that Mark XII that I was referring to....!

my 2 Lavamats

Some 1964 Lavamat Regina and some model of the successor line from 1969 Lavamat Nova L.

Doors ajar, timers off. That is why the timer lamps are not on and aglow.

Model on the left has an indicator disc type timer with rapid advance setting(position 14 on the selector knob, all others are preset programmes, options included).
Model on the right has a regular knob timer for the cycles and a separate thermostat from cold to boiling, option buttons above = spring loaded "cancel" upon pressing "off".

Two 25 watts incandescent bulbs behind each panel on both sides.
The light comes down towards the doors of the "self-contained and freely swinging machine unit" (read: tub/drum + motor + pump + filter).
All else (casing, electrics, valves and soap box) is mounted in the outer shell.

murando531's profile picture
There's not a machine pictured on this thread that isn't absolutely gorgeous. And you've all done a spectacular job at restoring/maintaining them! I continue to hope that one day I'll luck out and find a machine like one of those. I could admire them for hours.

It's a pity that appliances have become so dull over the years. You would think that what were TOL features back then would be standard features now, and that lighted consoles and tubs would be a simple tweak. There's no character in new appliances like there was back then.
