40" Fridgidaire range. A looker!

Hurry before the scrap gypsies get it first!

If it were me I'd text the guy and offer him a few bucks to hold it till I could get there. Looks like he wanted $100 at one time.

While not free, it's a good price:

Vintage Frigidaire Wall Oven and Electric Stovetop (1960s or 1970s) - $50 (Plymouth) - detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/app/46...

I think "flagged for removal" might have been because it was in the FREE section, but he still mentioned $100 in the headline.

The photo was definately not WCI era. It was the type with "speedometer" looking indicators for the heat settings. Probably early 60s?

Either way, I hate the idea of something like that going to scrap. So many treasures of our industrial era... At least locally it probably becomes a new Mustang, Cadillac or Jeep, rather than something from China. I take a load of metal to the yard every so often, but it's always pure junk... Like an 80s commercial HVAC unit I took off an office suite I own, or a mangled car door.

It could have been one like this?

There's currently one interesting Frigidaire dehumidifier on Detroit Craigslist, unfortunately, the pricing on the title and description don't match either... Maybe the seller just updated the title?!

Yes PhilR, that's the one. I'd even be tempted to get it and hold it for a good home, but the guy said "no help moving" and I don't have anyone capable of assisting getting it in my truck.

a Frigidaire Custom Imperial - it was $65 at the time I posted it, if it's the same seller...would be a shame if he decided to scrap it. There are many donation sources willing to pick that up... St. Vincent De Paul (who you call and they'll schedule a pickup, as we did when in Royal Oak this past summer), Salvation Army, or....but not to the scrapper. Someone needs to think and act beyond, if it's not sold.
