the funny part is they pulled this machine because they brought their "own" appliances with them when they bought this home. This machine will probably outlast the one that they brought with them.

Wow, would love

to see the inside of this one. When abouts was this one made? It looks timeless. A few years ago I bought the chrome badges to this model with the intent to make my brand new Kitchenaid look vintage. Thankfully, I never got around to it.Because my brand new $750(bought with the tax return and gift money) Kitchenaid from Sears required 3 service call repairs in 10 months. I finally got frustrated with it,
bought my KDS 16 off Craiglist for $50. Pulled out the new machine after the 3rd repair, put it in the basement and lived happily ever after with my "Miss Kay"

Fast forward a year. We bought an old house in the country, put our other house on the market. Put the lousy new disher in to sell and moved my KDS-16 here. She loves her new place and feels right at home. Miss Kay is the only dishwasher I have ever had that has actually been able to stand up to my family.

Is flopped - here it is in its correct orientation. Is that corrosion on the lower panel's bottom edge?

The interior is similar to the 14 series in this thread (see picture 5 of 5):

Miss K - love that!

Being a Dia Nehctik makes it even more rare, as is the brushed chrome/SS front.

I had a KDS-14 in my nehctik for a while and while I love the machine and use it regularly as a second dishwasher, it was a hard machine for me to love as a "main" daily driver. Too small for the way I use a dishwasher day-to-day.

Dia Nehctik

Gansky, that is too funny!! :). My partner and I are always pronouncing words (names, titles, etc) backwards as a game and for fun. I laughed hard when I read yours!

While the improved lower rack of the 14 would fit this machine, it would originally have the lower rack design with the more restrictive loading pattern of the 12 and earlier models.
