Hi Christina,
Of course it is! The WCI clones aren't but you can tell them apart easily. The top of the machines are different. Also, the WCI washers don't have that crease in their front panels (to match with the lower line of the dryer's door) and the dryers don't have a full width door like this one. The first picture shows my 1977 GM Frigidaire set and the 3 other picures show early WCI clones featured in these threads: www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/T... www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/T... I didn't find a picture showing the front panel of a WCI washer but these have no crease in the center like the GM washers. | ||

for chiming in. it is so hard for me to tell which ones are frigidaire thumpers, if they don't have the window. PhilR: for the tip on the "crease in the front panel" of the washer that lines up with the bottom line of the dryer door. i knew i remembered something about a crease in the front panel. but i totally forgot about that until you mentioned it!! LOL... and another thing, boy does the control panel on the WCI machine you posted, look like the one on "thumper" that is in the craigslist ad. to an untrained eye (like mine) they look identical!!! it looks like the same colors and selections. but thanks to you, now i know if they don't have that crease in the front panel, they are NOT the "thumper". oh your 1977 gm frigidaire set with the lit up control panels AND that windowed washer lid look AMAZING!!! you know me, i LOVES the windows, just like ovrphil!!! :o) and i'll have to remember; crease in the front panel of the washer = "the thumper"!!! hm hm hm..... ;o) thanks again for the tips on how to spot a "thumper". | ||

The top of the washer is also different, the early WCI machines had a full length opening to lift the lid on the right side of the lid and the shape of the lid itself is slightly more rounded.
BTW, the window lids were not available on the TOL models with fluorescent-lighted control panels. This lid was given to me by a friend and probably came from an earlier Crown or Gold Crown model. (I say earlier because it had a different lid switch). And the 5th and 6th picture shows a later WCI washer with a window lid too!
