I live in the sticks and found this guy who has over 600 washers from the late 60s and up.. I told him that I do not like that Dual -Action corkscrew thing.

He said no problem just tell him what kind of agitator do I want in what machine.. He loves the Jet-Cones but he can't find parts ever so he told me

anything but that..For a 100 bucks plus 6 months warranty on it.. I do like this Admiral Str8 Vane washer, there is also a Amana washer that I like.

he also has some Monkey wards and some mid 70s G.E., Magic Chef,Whirlpool,Maytag,RCA and S.Q. ..

He told me that most customers like the Dual Action jobs but he don't like either like me.He has over a 1000 Agitators of all shapes in the back of that place..

Does anybody have any advice on what to grab? New top washers are a joke bad and the front loaders are terrible also unless you spend a fortune on a Miele

and I cant believe I am saying this but, the real small Frigidaire front loaders work great even when packed.

But, a WP DD washer with the Xtra Roll Action Plus DAA would outwash and be 10x more reliable than ANY Vertical Agitator FD. These machines would also out perform the others mentioned.
If you want to go FL a SQ would be a MUCH better choice than a Miele.

YOU'RE A VERY LUCKY GUY Wes...I could only have this opportunity in a dream...the 70's GE's, BD Whirlpool and Kenmore's...late 60's and 70's Westinghouse and White-Westinghouse with the (2-in-1 Double Spiral Ramp agitators)...the 18 lbs. 1973 Gibson washer with the 10 Vane Agitator are some great ones.

My vote is for a GE Filter-Flo with the ramped-activator agitator. It has great wash action and I have loved using the 60s and 70s ones I grew up with, and the 80s one I have now. They do use a ton of water.

I know that a lot pf people love  those Dual Action washers.I am not one of those at all. The best washing performance has always been a Frigidaire 1-18 from

the tests I have done but every washer is different.I think I am going to get a 1984 Magic Chef washer or this 1977 G.E. filter flo .. This guy does int have a

business he has a washer junk yard and his home are one in the same.I will grab the address when I go back, addresses are different in the sticks. You get up to 50% off if you bring in your old washer and buy another used one.He has at least 20 washers a month that

are just dropped off there for no reason save the folks got a new washer...  He has a Westinghouse 1970s that is in perfect shape for it's age but I have

never used one of them and have no clue if they were good washers. He is like us hates new washers that are costing more and more $$ and have no transmission in them and use less and less water. The companies make them to last until the warranty goes then it breaks...

since the first days of the perforated tub filterflos.....there have only been two sizes available, no matter how they call it.....

there was standard and large......

standard could be anything from a V12, V14, V16, Regular capacity......

and then the Large, ExLarge, 18lb machine......

depending on the year, the names changed, but the sizes for each remained the same...

it may use a bit more water, but you wont find better rinsing or extraction....and that Minibasket can be a great accessory.....

Oh, and in my humble opinion, I'd have to say a GE straight-vane agitator does an amazing job, as does any Norge/Wards agitator. A Whirlpool Surgilator can't be beat, either.

old washer farm

There used to be a lot of places like this around. Since scrap metal places, that pay for your old scrap metal, they have disappeared almost completely.
