I just bought a house here in Portland, Oregon that was built in 1953. It has a built-in Apex Dish-a-matic dishwasher that looks like it hasn't worked in decades. Before I simply throw it away as junk, I thought I'd check: are there folks who want them for their parts, or maybe even to restore them? I'm afraid the control panel is missing, but the rest of it all seems to be there.

Does this have any value?

have parts value to some collectors here. We'll keep this on top so people see it.

Thanks! As I'm updating the house, I'll try to remove this as carefully as I can and set it aside. It's a great curiousity, but I'm afraid my inclination is to get new appliances. :-)

Still, I want this to have a good home if there's one out there.

We all love older homes with the original styling and appliances still in them. We also love photos of these homes. If possible could you take a few pics or more of the house in its present state. We would love to see your home and projects.

Was it on that back wall where the piece of wood is?  I bet that was a very cool installation in its' day.

The house is in really original shape, but not has not been well-maintained. So the plumbing is rotting, the electrical is scary, and the kitchen is falling apart. I'm going to update and modernize, while keeping as much look/feel of the midcentury vibe as I can. I'm heading out of town for a few days, but when I get back, I'll post some photos of parts of the house I think folks here will find interesting. It's really a lovely place, it just needs some TLC. :-)

Still Sitting In My Garage

Soo...this old dishwasher is still sitting in my garage and I'd really like to get rid of it. Gonna check once more, to see if anyone would be interested in an old Apex Dish-a-matic dishwasher, that's not in great shape. Any suggestions on how to give it a new home or new life are welcome. Otherwise, it's going to the dump/scrap heap by the end of this summer. Thanks!

How much are you looking to sell it for?

Not really important to me to sell it. I'd be happy to give it a new home, as long as the interested party comes and picks it up.
