What a stunning machine. Was the lint filter on this effected similarly to the solid-tub Filter-Flos of the time?

The integrated Hotpoint crest-chute for the WonderRinse is immensely clever, but--to turn a phrase from "Two and a Half Men"--trying to get a bottle of softener to pour cleanly into that tiny trough must be the equivalent of peeing through a Cheerio at fifty paces.

You're right about pouring the softener; it was probably better to pour it into a measuring cup and then slowly pour it into the trough.

Like the GE, it was an overflowing solid tub that fed the recirculating filter, but most of the filter stayed out of sight, unlike the GE's. Like the GE, it only filtered at full water level.

Who or what held the Cheerio in position for that skill test?

I am amazed at how short-lived Hotpoint automatic washers were before they became GE clones.

Hotpoint washers were different all the way up to the early 70's, if i"m not mistaken. Hotpoint dryers changed over to the GE style before the washer did. I remember that JCPenny used to carry the Hotpoint made machines labeled Penncrest.
