That pull out shelf is quite odd - I'd probably hate that after a while and wish for just plain open shelves.
It's funny we don't see more Coldspots in our online vintage scouring of CL, Ebay, etc. I wonder why? Sears had to have sold billions of them, my grandmother had a Coldspot top-freezer from around this era, I loved the script of the Coldspot logo on the front. She would never allow magnets on the front or exposed side of the cabinet, didn't want it scratched. |

Pretty much, Gansky1 - don't see many Coldspots on CL. Maybe they're still in service?

I don't think Sears during that vintage (1957-1964) was all that competitive in refrigerators...early 50s they were, but they didn't make an easy switch to two door units. For whatever reason, they didn't have the good design of Frigidaire or GE, and until the early 60s when they went with the cantilever shelving/foam insulation they weren't quite "it"...Seeger (Evansville) was definitely their suppler for refrigeration, but perhaps didn't have quite the design prowess that Whirlpool (laundry) did during this period.
