How does the GE hydrowave washers differ from the Ge standard front access and the old rear access panel washers in terms of design, operattion and features? |

Hello again, I just found a picture that somehow demonstrates the motor assembly in GE hydro wave washers. Found it on Flicker! I like the 3.9 models, great washer. |

They are quite a bit different. Like stated above the new wash system is way more quiet than the older direct drive. My neighbor upstairs from me has one and there's no question when they are doing laundry lol.
Mine cleaned very well. I did not have any problems with my comforter at all. It has a corkscrew agitator and it pulled the comforter down and up, albeit slow, but it cleaned fine. Washing comforter in traditional top load machines is always a challenge anyway, especially on older machines. There are just too small for it. |

I agree with Joeypete too. I had a GE GTWN2800 for 2 years and 8 mo. and the only reason I got rid of it was due to our extreme drought here in Calif. During the time I used this machine I was always happy with its performance and never had any problems, what so ever. No strange noises or unusual peformance issues. The only complaint was that it used way too much water at a time when we in Calif. are being required to cut water usage by at least 25%. BTW, people on this site keep referring to these traditional GE washers as Hydrowave, but if you go the GE's website and read the Q&A, GE states that they are not Hydorwave, but traditional agitator system washers, that GE refers to as "dual action agitator". This doesn't make any real difference, but I did find that piece of info interesting, for whatever its worth.
