The first washer I grew up with was a Maytag with the long slow agitation. It had the turquoise agitator and was the typical off white color. If I remember correctly, it had the standard tub, not the large one, meaning it had 3 pushbutton water levels. There were also 4 water temp selections. It had either beige or black buttons, I am leaning towards beige. I believe it was an 80s machine. The timer from what I can remember had delicates, regular, and permanent press. I believe it was a two speed machine but I cannot recall correctly as it didn't have a pushbutton speed selection. If it didn't, does this make it a fabric matic? It had the matching gas dryer as well. Oh, and the tub was the dark bluish gray color.
This washer ended up not spinning or draining in the early 2000s so we replaced it with a dependable care model with the dual action agitator. Still runs!
The second washer I'm trying to track down was a whirlpool belt drive. It had a surgilator without the double duty flower shape on the bottom. I think it was a lower middle of the line machine. It had the round softener dispenser and the classic woo-woo. The control panel had a timer and two knobs, one for water level and one for temp. It didn't have pushbuttons like some of the imperial series I see. I believe the control panel had the brown background but I cannot recall exactly. It did not have a lint filter of any sort. The dryer was also a matching unit. If it helps any, I can remember that the owners manual or brochure that was left behind had a sun with a face on it. The house was built in the 70s-80s.
This one apparently used to tear our clothes, so it got dumped. It was a sad day for me, because I loved the sounds and the splashing it made much more than the Maytag.
Any help is appreciated!!

I thought of some more details about the whirlpools that might help identify them.
The dryer had a pull-down door, not the swinging type.
The washer had a speckled basket, and definitely said "heavy duty" on the control panel. The control panel was similar to dualactionsurgilator's imperial seventy set on youtube.
If I'm not mistaken...Fabric Matics are single speed machines that use one speed for everything but use a pause during agitation depending on what cycle the machine is using. Plus spin times are different lengths in the cycles.
