Anyone have a resource for 120v germicidal lamps that could be used in Kenmore washers? I was lucky on mine, but what if it burns out??? I know that I will need one for a Maytag dryer that I have too. Thanks, Mark

Yes Greg!

These lamps are wired in series with a 40w appliance bulb....and you're right, usually it's the appliance bulb that burns out! Mark

Is it the same 4 watt bulb that Frigidaire used in its filtrator dryers? If so Mark, I have about a dozen extra bulbs. Just let me know when you need any.

Rich

Thanks!

Thanks Rich! I'm not sure if it's the same bulb ot not. It has a c-9 base (like the large outdoor Christmas light) and is round like an old type flash bulb. Mark

Puritron air purifiers are loaded with those bulbs, I've found a couple of them at thrift stores and estate sales, one was just a convection type that hung on a wall that netted 8 bulbs and the puritron I found was a double version of this (link) ad that had four in it.

I've seen them broken, but never burned out.
