i picked up an old maytag wringer (model j i believe), it's two pieve with a square tub. i sanded primed and repainted the lower half with appliance paint and its looking good. i also repainted the tub with the same paint but its starting to chip inside the tub.

i converted it to my outdoor sink. it sits on my back porch semi covered and not really in any direct sunlight. i have an outdoor table and bar so its used to wash hands or rinse bbq tools when cooking. it's been in use since july 4. last week it started chipping. what should i have done different? should i get it powder coated? or just let it chip inside until it back down to the original finish and just leave it alone?

You painted over the porcelain which doesn't hold paint well because its so smooth. That's why its now chipping off. Was the porcelain inside the tub bad that it needed to be painted over? The porcelain itself would deal with water. That's what it was there to do originally. To get paint to stick to porcelain it has to be acid etched with a mild acid or roughed up with sandpaper first. Use a good grade primer and paint.
