I've never seen a Maytag this BOL before. Is this the 06 series equivalent of a highlander? Is it commercial with the non-06 model number? Any info on the model? Looks late 60s to me....

Looks like a real BOL/Institutional model like the 'Blue Bell' wringer..note the plastic knob door handle and stark control panel

Maytag bottom of the line dryer

These dryers were made in the 1970s, they were made in both the halo of heat and the stream ofheat designs. They never made a washer that matched them exactly. They were made to use as an advertising come on.

These dryers were also marketed to people who did not own a dryer, for a long time most manufacturers tried to get people to buy their first dryer and they often did so with a low come on price.

The construction quality of these Maytag dryers was exactly like even the top-of-the-line machine right down to a porcelain enamel top.

Maytag struggled with dryer sales there dryers did not have the superior durability their washers did and they were expensive to make so they tried a number of things to get people to buy a Maytag dryer this was one of them.

Sounds like an earlier version of the one in this picture.  There wasn't a matching washer for this one.  It was for people who just needed a dryer.

Washer in the last post looks just like my 511, early 80's vintage. But I never seen a dryer like the one in the first pix.
