Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has information/pictures/videos of the early Whirlpool dryers. If I recall they had 2 belts and pulleys in the back, similar to the Maytag HOH design.

I'm curious when this design came out, and when it was superseded (I think 1965?). The link I have shows some pictures.

I find it pretty cool that the descendant of that dryer with the lint filter in the top is still being built today. It has to be the longest lasting design out there.

While I'm at it, if anyone has more info on Maytag HOH dryers that would be nice too. Though it seems to be easier to find literature/pictures of those dryers.

Here's a quick peek at the earlier Whirlpool belts and pulleys in operation on my 1956 Whirlpool Imperial dryer.

I didn't get a got shot of it, but there was a really different belt switch assembly to ensure the drum was turning before power got sent to the heaters.  When the dryer stops, there is a distinct chatter that can be heard as the switch spins down - it's also typical of the Whirlpool dryers of this vintage.
