On getting a hoover 510 Bill.
I had a 510 that I passed down to one of my aunts & then she gave it back so I passed it to my brother until he got an automatic washer. One thing I really liked about the hoover I had was the spinner (of course) ;o) I don't know too much about the time line but I think the 510 came out in the mid 60's. And I think you can find out the year it was produced by the serial number. I think it was either the first 2 numbers in the serial number? Or the last 2 numbers in the serial number. Good luck with your hoover 510 & happy twin tub washing. :o) |

That anytime the lower pump is taken apart a new O ring will be required to reseal when putting it back together.
Mine was having leaking issues from the top of pump, but think it was because the diverter valves were dried out. Likely from very infrequent use (haven't used the thing in nearly year). The pump is brand new but again it was put on several years ago now and if the machine has seen a total of twenty loads would be lucky. Just don't have the time nor patience to cope with all the noise. *LOL* It might be possible to simply use a generic O ring by going to any supply source and matching what you've got. |
