Is it black, or missing?   Wouldn't this be a KDS-18.

Yes, this would be about 1975/1976ish. The button is actually dark brown. The Energy Saver option was added prior to the introduction of the 18 series in response to consumer demand and growing sentiment to save energy.

This machine looks pristine!

It is not a KDS 18

It's a 17 like Bob said, the last three buttons are the Party Cycles.
