So here is the beginning of my new humble collection after losing what I had in California's third most devastating wildfire. They were free and are working fine, although not too happy with the 406 that it is only a single-speed. Not crazy about Maytags but need to take what I can get at this point. Am happy with the clicking timer which makes me hope that this set is older than I think. So can someone help me with a vintage? Serial # 490836WU. Only know how to decipher Whirlpool/Kenmore serial numbers...

Thanks! Todd

Todd, keep using them and you will get to love them. They are 70's vintage but still will work fine and parts are readily available. Mine are 32 years old still work fine so you always can have those dependable Maytags to depend on.

Todd, WU = Sept 1975

They look to be in very nice condition, congrats on the new start of what will be the first of hopefully many machines in the collection!

Kevin
