So we're getting settled into our new home after losing everything in the Valley Fire last Sept. here in CA. Here are the new daily drivers in the laundry room. (the "real" laundry room is under construction and should accommodate up to 12 machines) After some cleaning up and replacement belts, these both run beautifully...am curious of the age of the A407 washer. Serial # 490836WU. (I'm only versed in deciphering Whirlpool/Kenmore numbers)

Thank you.

What beautiful machines! So glad to read that you're getting back on your feet after that tragedy.

Please post some more pics of those beauties!

Nice!

I'm wondering, is that an HOH (Halo Of Heat) small door dryer?
Or is that an SOH (Stream Of Heat) big door dryer?

Those look like they cleaned up really nice for you! There's nothing like the maytag center-dials.
I loves 'em!
;o)

CONGRATULATIONS on the nice find.
WOOOO HOOOOO!!
:oD

Halo of Heat

That dryer is the Halo of Heat with the lint filter in the back of the drum

Wow Todd, those look to be in very nice condition!   Sorry to hear the washer is a single speed model.

Congrats on a nice start to rebuilding the collection!

Todd, congratulations on getting into the new house and beginning the collection.  This Fabric-Matic washer will serve you well.  As will the dryer.  They're beautiful.

I have had my Fabric-Matic for 32 years and have never had a problem on delicate, probably because I have no delicate clothes and rarely use that cycle. Those Maytags are the tanks that will last a lifetime.

Many thanks Christina for your help in identifying the vintage of the washer -- assume the dryer is the same. Thank you Frigidaireguy for confirming the dryer is indeed a Halo of Heat model as I discovered when I cleaned it up. More photos of the twins here per request.

I remember reading a thread a while back about locating replacement push buttons. The water temp buttons on my machine are looking a little tired and worn. Any extras for sale out there?

Thank you all for your kind words. Never thought I'd say this but I'm really starting to appreciate beauty and simplicity of Maytag!
