Hi guys/girls!
I haven't posted anything in a long while, so I hope you are doing alright. I'll soon be getting the dishwasher of my dreams, a rarely used Miele G562 dishwasher in near-mint condition! The sad souls who spent all the money it was worth at the time just installed it in their kitchen and used it once/twice a year (a real aberration, considering the G562 was the best performing and most expensive dishwasher on the Italian market at the time) and they got rid of it because they renovated the whole kitchen. I need your opinion: provided that the machine is still running strong and that I will ask Miele service for a complete checkup (they are located 5 km away from my hometown), is it sensible to start stocking on some key spare parts - e.g. circulation and draining pumps, detergent and rinse-aid dispensers, touch keypad, just to name the most vital - while they are still available at spare part retailers and on eBay (on eBay.de there are some spare parts which are rather affordable, original and new)? I'd like this machine to be a faithful and reliable kitchen companion for a long time, so I don't want to be caught unaware should some trouble arise (touch wood!!!!) and Miele had stopped supplying them. Thank you for you advice, which will be greatly appreciated. Ivan |

I have been stocking parts for my Kitchen Aid machines for a long time because I know the parts will eventually dry up and I'd like to keep the machines running as long as I can.
Can't wait to see pictures of your new find. This post was last edited 05/12/2016 at 11:13 |

Hi guys!
Thank you for your replies! Ralph, I will sure post some pics once the friend who found it for me will bring it at my place. You just have to wait another 2-3 weeks as I need to clear some space in my basement to store the modern Bosch dishwasher I'm currently using (and I'm no longer satisfied with). In the meantime, I was able to find the dispensers already. Rod, I've watched the vids you posted and I'm happy you were so lucky as to find a G560 still in the box: there must be some here in Italy as well, as some vintage appliances still in the box pop up on eBay and similar sites when family-run appliance stores close or must do some work in their wharehouse. BTW, were you able to find the softener regeneration cylinder? Hoover25, I saw the pics you posted in Rod's thread :) I love your kitchen! I wish mine looked like yours. The G562 I'll be getting has the grey fascia. |

Hi Rod!
Yes, I believe you: I went to the local Miele service office last week and they confirmed they stocked a good amount of spare parts for models like G520, G542, G560 and G562 as in our area there are still some in service and the owners don't want to replace them with newer models, no matter the repair price. The owner of the business agreed to give my dishwasher a general check once it'll be installed: I'm counting the days to its arrival here. I am also curious about the regeneration cycle on yours: could you give us a brief description of what it does once you try it? Thx ;) |

Hi guys! The G562 arrived on Tuesday: I've already done a "maiden wash" with some clean tableware I don't use on the Delicate 50° and it was awesome. The machine is even quieter than the Bosch it replaced but you can actually hear the jets of hot water inside doing what they are supposed to do - i.e. CLEANING and drenching the load as they should.
I'll start a full load after lunch and make a video, but for now enjoy the pics I took after its installation (I was impressed by the size and look of the lower sprayarm: never seen anything like this in the flesh) :) |
