Will the wringer units on the '50s and newer Maytag wringer washers interchange?

They should be able to be changed. I am not sure if the wringers on the round tube machines are the same size as the square tub machines. Have fun washing. Gary

Not all models are interchangeable...

The wringer assembly for the Model N was a different shape for the round tub. Wringers for models E and J are interchangeable, to my knowledge.

Yes, Brad is correct. Happy washing. Gary

It fits!

Thanks, everyone. I was about to panic after replacing the gasket to the power unit and the tub gasket on a rusty J2 (my first Maytag wringer project!), reprinting the skirt, putting on new castors and putting in new tub bolts when for the finale I attempted to put on the wringer from my E2. It wouldn't go all the way down. I turned there pull ya bit to reposition things, wiggled it a little and it slid right in. The whole project is a long story, but thankfully I'm back to washing.

Silly iPad. I meant to say "repainting the skirt"

My mom had a master washer top of the line Maytag. Her daughter in law had a Maytag round tub wringer, her wringer gave up the ghost. She would come up to the house to borrow the wringer to do her wash. Fun times.

castors

Where did you get new castors at?
I have a couple of Maytag wringers I'm planning on fixing up and both of them are in need of new castors.
I've seen some used one's on eBay, but was wondering if there's another outlet to get them from.
Or if I can buy some from Grainger or someplace like that. What size would I look for?
