Wow!

Looks to me that the nameplate says "Compact Washer"

The slide control on the left is for pump On or Off. Doesn't appear that the basket is perforated and based on the large size of the tub in comparison to the cabinet, can it be assumed the machine doesn't spin? An alternative to a wringer washer? But it doesn't appear to have a wringer . . so what does one do about extraction??

Surely one of the experts around here will be able to provide some details!

There was a vintage Kenmore compact W/D set from the 50's in Texas on eBay about 2 years ago. The dryer looked similar to the washer and had a round door with a manual latch. If you look closely at this one, you will see a small drain in the top left corner of the tub.

The set on eBay had a small, separate electrically powered wringer that mounted to the top of the machine; appears this one doesn't have it.

Here's a similar Proctor-Silex-labeled machine I found on Oldewash.com.

There's an early 60's Consumer Reports that did a Once-Over on the matching Procter-Silex dryer. Don't think they were terribly impressed.
