Greetings to all on automaticwasher!
I have not posted on here in quite a good while, but I thought I'd return to share with you what has been the most amazing experience in my interest of appliances! Those who know me off the Facebook groups and on YouTube will know I do voluntary work at my local British Heart Foundation F&E store. Since March when I joined, I have been on the lookout for a classic washing machine, the main reason I chose them to work with. Well finally on 14th September, my wish would be fulfilled. I usually test the newly brought in appliances, those that are in bad condition, faulty or unsafe are thrown in the cage at the back of the store, also were unsellable items are kept out of the stockroom. So I went to throw some faulty lamps out when I had a usual look around and behind a fat-back TV, I spotted something brown and cream...it wasn't until I saw a bold 'HOTPOINT' logo and the 1900s Electronic symbol peaking out did I realise what I had found. It was a Hotpoint 95-series!! A 'Next Generation' model. So I moved the TV to find it was a Hotpoint 9530 Electronic 1000 Plus in Spring Almond. I also found that the door had been cracked and it was missing the 2 lid-strips, I have these on order. Aside from that and a slightly dented worktop, the machine is in practically new condition, seeming to have had replacement drum and seal, soap drawer so clean I could have had my pudding out of it, not a single scratch on the fascia or drum. So this was to be scrapped, my assistant who fully understands my interests told me "don't worry, I'll keep it aside and tell our PAT tester not to cut the cable, just move it aside and put a red FAULTY sticker on it." my mum's cousin came to pick it up and home the 9530 came with me... She has not been plumbed in yet as we need a standpipe fitted, so this will be done this week, but here she is. I've done a few test spins and she growls like a proper Hotpoint 95 should do! I'm so happy to finally be a vintage washer collector, even if I can only just have the 1 machine, she will be running alongside my Miele 'Millie' as I nicknamed her. Thank you and I'll keep you updated! Pictures ranging from in the cage at BHF, through to all shots of the machine, including the lid off and before and after pictures of the soap drawer! Enjoy. Forgot to add as well, she is from April 1986 making her one of the first 'Next Generations' off the Hotpoint production line, as the Next Generations were introduced in April 1986. The April lineup consisted of the core models 9510, 9520, 9530 and 9540 with the 9551 Microtronic in June and 9562 in July I think. Also were the Currys and Rumbelows exclusive models 9511, 9512 and 9531 (this one I really wanted as it has a spin-slider!).
And here is the most recent picture (this evening) of my 9530 with flash. You can really see the true cleanliness of her. Sadly it looks like the replacement door I need is the mottled effect, not the flossy plastic :'(

Hotpoint 9530A
1500 days later, she's been half way around the world, never really had an issue
my 9530W is one of, if not the best purchase of my life thanks for all the youtube vids, i learned how to lubricate the motor bearings from it thanks Matthew
