when I worked for a Maytag Home Appliance Center, I sold tons of these, it was our best selling washer. I have one in my collection it needs a boot stem seal kit.

Has anyone ever seen the electronic control 9904 washer and dryer?
Do any AW members own one or the pair?
I don't recall ever seeing any on AW.
These would be of the same vintage as my 9921 dishwasher.

I have the same brochure, but in French. Only difference, there's a stuffed dinosaur in the dryer.

I assume these machines were designed to be produced at a cheaper cost than the helical drive machines. Were there other ways they cheapened them up besides the transmission? Common/major problems with these machines?

The brochures are great. You would never see the great action / parts shots today.

I haven't done a thing to the one I have. They probably have the same issues as other Maytag's.

I bought my mother an LSG7604AAL in 1994, the stacked set.  The only things it's needed over the past 22 years are a new timer and blower wheel.  She loves it.  I asked her recently if it were to die beyond repair would she ever consider a new front loader set.....she said NO!

Somewhere in my house I know I have a complete Whirlpool catalog from the lat 80's that I'd love to scan in...but I put it in a safe place.......

After the LAT's came out, at least mine anyway.  The porcelain edge around the underside of the lid is prone to rust. I wipe down the splashes and steam.  It is not a problem, but different from the quality in my old froze up center dial. A
