I know, it's a top loader, but it's just $25!

Check out the GE stove next to it with the griddle.

The replacement knob with the large black center on the range tells me the Automatic Calrod switch went bad at some point and was replaced with an infinite switch.

It's the GE Stove...

that's the focus of attention, too. I can only say, I'd take the dishwasher over that stove. Knob replaced, eh?

Ok, it's a "Automatic Grille"...and they use PAM. (no trivia points for me).

If you have the dedicated surface space

Then top loading dishwashers are fine. However am here to tell you having to shift things on and off that top otherwise soon gets on one's nerves.

If and or when something else comes along my Mobile Maid likely will be given the push. Am getting too old for such nonsense. *LOL*

Launderess, could you put a shelf on the wall over where the dishwasher is parked, just high enough to get the machine under it? Then you would not have things directly on the lid of the machine and all you would have to do is pull it our from under the shelf to load it. If you can't do that, could you put a large tray or something like a vegetable bin on top of it so you would have only one thing to lift off the machine?

I have been fascinated by this machine because it has the timer and more modern top rack of the 15 series, along with the automatic detergent dispenser but the washing system of the 14. It is a real transitional model and not on the market for long. It would be interesting to see if it performs as well as a 15 which was one of the top rated machines by CU in '65.
