Today (thursday)there was a little bit ofcoverage on smart shopping for appliances with a speaker from Good Housekeeping Magazine there to talk about it.Anyone of us who watched it I am sure heard her during her promotion of how great the GE front loading washer and matching dryer are claim that on detergents the letters (HE)stand for High Energy. What the heck was she talking about???? Did she really know?????? Who hired her???? Who'll fire her????? Everybody knows that (HE) stands for High Efficiency or to be a bit more direct----low sudsing. She also claimed the dryer took 1.5 hours to dry a load normaly but the GE they make to match their front loading washer only takes 1 hour. Now I have sold many sets of these and the ones I sold take an average of 40 minutes max. |

It absolutely drives me nuts when people who know nothing get "on stage" and blab garbage data. At the same time, people like us know the score and often don't have a voice. Among my "favorites". * An expert in electronics who said RCA stood for "Radio Connectivity Association". * I overheard an "expert" at an electronics store stating that a VCR was "HQ" because it had stereo audio. * I also overheard a electronics salesperson gleefully stating that they sell lots of a particular accessory because (a large TV manufacturer) refused to make the part. I was next to her and worked for that same manufacturer at the time and knew of the part personally. I stopped her, introduced myself as an engineer for that particular company, corrected her with all pertinent data - only to see her drop her jaw the floor... She said she "didn't know". I'll just bet. If she didn't enjoy bashing my company so much I would've kept my trap shut. There are way too may people out there with good persona but bad data. I wish they would just go away... |
