I recently purchased a laundry spinner on Amazon in order to save time (line drying) and/or time AND electricity (drying in the dryer).
I hung out a load of towels after running them through the spinner and for the first time ever, the line-dried towels were nice and soft - not stiff and scratchy as they always were when dried on the line.
I suppose it's because most all of the excess water/soap residue was extracted out of the towels.
SO - added bonus using a spinner - softer line-dried clothes!
