As summer nears its end, there have been many wonderful finds in Applianceville. Going out with a BANG, I found this wonderful Blackstone dryer, that is near mint condition. For me its been a good year at finding dryers: now the search for the matching washers has begun! Here is a series of pictures of Blackstone Elegante'62. I am wondering if this means its a 1962 model.............

Timer is relatively simple, but very stylish.

Extremely well built and very quiet running, it worked perfectly when I got it. Didnt even need to be cleaned out, as I think it had almost no use. Anyone have a Blackstone washer similar to this? I might consider selling it if it would complete a set for someone........

Great looking dryer. Unfortunately, I do not have a matching washer for this model. I do have most of the parts and a service manual for the dryer; but it looks like you won't be needing any replacement parts for a while. We have been in the Blackstone business for many years in our store.
When cleaning out the lint from inside the dryer, you must pull out the lint filter tray, and then stick a yardstick up the opening, since the lint will collect outside the drum. Taking apart the foot pedal was usually a nuisance, also. Other than that, this is an easy dryer to repair.
While the model number does not signify the year, this is a model from the early 1960s.
Any further questions, just let me know.
Fred

Jimmy that dryer is so cool, I would be even more fun to see what the matching washer looked like.

This is a real nice dryer. I always wondered why the dryers had the real long door opening. Does anyone have a picture of the matching washer? Best Of Luck with this real Gem.

A spectacular find, Jimmy! Is the drum driven by a roller or tire at the top corner? The heating element is a crack-up, looks like a GE Calrod could replace it ;-)

Wow Jimmy, that is MINT! Certainly a classy-looking dryer! Love the timer dial...somewhat resembles a 60's Hotpoint!
