So while I was doing laundry last week, this washer failed in the final spin. The suspension spring let go and in doing rippped the tub boot and drain pump boot, not to mention crushing the pump. What a racket that made when it occurred ....

My neighbor had one of those models and it did the same thing but the inside tub ruined the plastic outside tub. Sears could fix it for more $ than she paid for it new. She bought a new one.

I ended up buying a new washer and dryer this past weekend...they are coming on Saturday. The dryer won’t be hooked up until Monday by the plumber since it will be gas.

I ended up buying the Electrolux 527s . They were the only ones I could stack comfortably in my basement without issues.

That washer was built in 2010. I bought it at Lowes for $300 since it was a left over and they didn't have the matching dryer. This washer was a replacement for the previous washer...same model that was built in 2001 that threw the drum spider. That was a sound I won't forget either. I wonder if they had an issue with the vendor of the suspension springs back when the washer was being built. I can't complain that this washer has been good in the time I have had it, but I expected it to last a tad longer but like with anything else made today....as they say...they don't build them like hey used to.
My LG's are going on 4 years now and no issues at all so far. I absolutely love them.
