Richard works out a plan, a big tip when having to move all these heavyweights is to mop the floor and a nylon fleecy sheet, they then glide across the room, but first lets get all those connections unhooked !!

Later on in the other room we set about fixing up the 1966 Bendix LT Washer Dryer that had finally come home, it was found 3 miles from me in a vicarage, bidded on by another member and driven up North only to be passed on to a Midlands member and then later of to a Southern guy who then passed it back to us, ha ha, its certainly clocked up the road miles...

New pump on, water hoses tightened and "Switch On" bearings okay, no cause yet to replace, new water fill hoses done already by southern guy Chris, and then...the proverbial water drip drip drip, was coing from the sump box and filter arrangement, The oblong box that holds the water strainer place under the drum was leaking from one of the 4 mounting screws. So its either drum out or get creative !!

Yes, motor out, this motor was very different one in the day, its a brush motor but has permanent magnets instead of field coils, so reliable Philips gave it a 10 yr guarantee which was unheard of in the 1980`s.

In the other room later we also look at the inside of the 7 series miele from the 1970`s, on spin it developed a "Knocking" noise, thinking it could be a spring or suspension, it was dryer off the top and whip off the worktop....

Thanks for sharing the pictures of this wonderful event. You certainly know how to party and get stuff done together.
I love that Miele 1970's set (approx. 1975-1977). The washing machine is a bit different than the model that was sold on the European continent. The HLCC numbers are an extra and also the continental model didn't have a 50 degrees setting. It was 60 degrees (including the extra prewash) or 40 degrees. Looking forward to your report on the Ebac. |
