How Much Is That Bottle Of Persil?

As noted in another thread several weeks ago federal government has forced PayPal to make all USA based consumer accounts become "verified" if they are used to hold money and make payments.

Later update from feds now requires all PP accounts to be linked to a bank account. Am going with any other such service must do the same.

From what one understands this was done due to concerns regarding money laundering.

Previously long as one remained below certain limits (if there were any on individual accounts), one could send and receive money from anyone in the world. That alone opens up a world of possibilities. In theory one could be engaging in all sorts of illegal or illicit activities ranging from being on the game to selling drugs and have funds sent/received via PayPal.

The other of course we all know; persons steal from shops, persons or whatever and fence the merchandise on eBay or any place else. This gives them a wider audience than trying to move things locally.

Because until now long as one left those funds sitting in PP account no sort of verification was required. So money from various illegal/illicit activities could then be transferred, used to make payments, spent on goods or services for various seemingly legitimate purposes.

PayPal has grown to become very widely accepted nowadays. This offers a wealth of places to move "ill gotten" money.

Checkrate/Likes I used up the huge box of Persil Universal Powder that I bought in 2012, after sharing some of it. That power was all white. Today I opened a new 44 load box of Persil Universal Powder. It does not have the intense perfume of the 2012 formula and is slightly blue with darker blue speckles. It is slightly more concentrated than the 2012. I don't know if this is the powder that is sold now in the plastic bottles.

Checkrate/Likes 2 When I see those crazy prices, I wonder if people are actually buying. I have two unopened bottles of the ProClean Power Pearls in my basement. Maybe I should consider them an investment!

Checkrate/Likes *So much of Tide and other detergents on fleaPay* Are stolen or otherwise fallen off back of truck goods. That being said who in their right mind would pay $35 for a bottle of any detergent you can get at any local shop for less. Much less when on sale. With new USPS higher shipping rates it costs dear to get that detergent as well. Yet, eBay is flooded with detergents and other laundry products being offered for huge sums.

Checkrate/Likes Read somewhere that high priced Ebay/Amazon things are a money-laundering vector. Don't completely understand the process, but FWIW.

Checkrate/Likes Some years ago, thieves used to steal Tide liquid from stores and sell it in ghettos as a way of converting detergent to cash. I don't know how the situation has resolved.
