Greetings all,

I have the pictured Caloric range, circa 1976 and wondering if anyone has the parts diagram for control parts, body parts, etc. that indicate the part numbers.

I'd like to search for available parts, however I cannot find the diagrams on any of the supplier sites. Also I've noticed my particular model number is difficult to locate.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dominick aka Natural Nick

76 Caloric Range

The local Tribles in Beltsville can look up any part numbers for this range, unfortunately very little is still available.

The range has obviously had very good care and probable not that much heavy use.

The biggest problem area on this range were the bake and broil burner igniters, other than these you would sometimes see a bad oven selector switch, thermostat or sized burner valve, bad spark module or oven door hinges.

I see little point in trying to guess what will go wrong and trying to stock pile parts you will likely never use, just take care of it and cross that bridge when you come to it, it was a popular range and you will probably be able to find most parts it will need for another 20 years.

Given that you are nearly 100 years old I would not worry too much about the range.

John

Beautiful stove

I will tell you something I found in one of similar construction that I attempted to restore for outside use under my deck as an emergency stove. The removable/lift out cooktop sits below the top of those side panels because it is recessed and if the previous owner was not meticulous about cleaning, grease and shmutz ran down those side walls into which the cooktop was recessed and grease and shmutz not only accumulated in the pan forming the bottom of the burner box below it but kept running down the side wall of the range past the burner box to who knows where because there was not a sealed seam where the side wall met the pan that formed the base of the burner box. Unfortunately the pan was not porcelainized so there was rust below the grease and shmutz. Unless there is a seamless construction, having this type of a recessed cooktop is asking for a lot of maintenance or trouble.

Can't help, but that is a very nice range you have there. I haven't seen a Caloric with that style control panel or the baking guide. Self cleaning, pilotless and panel light, I bet it was TOL for the time!

Thanks all!

If anyone runs into a PDF or such of a parts diagram, I'd greatly appreciate it.

John: Thanks. I'm very familiar with Trible's. Their website used to have a parts diagram for this range. I'm not stockpiling parts per se, but there are a few pieces I'd like to replace if I can find them. I intend to call/visit Trible's to see if they would print me out a parts diagram. Thought I'd ask here first.

This range actually sees a *lot* of use. I care for my appliances and give it a thorough cleaning at least once a year. Mom taught me well. :D The birthday is actually my Dad's.

fan-of-fans: When I was studying Architecture, one of our courses was on Kitchen design, residential and commercial and when my Dad wanted to purchase a new range, he allowed me to make the selection. It's used in the canning kitchen and is used frequently. It was TOL for it's time. :)

Tomturbomatic: You're spot on about the recessed top. It's cleaned regularly and I've noticed that accumulation, resulting in an avoidance of spills and generally careful cooking. In general a soiled stove is unsanitary. A clean appliance is a happy appliance. ;)

Thanks again and if anyone bumps into a parts diagram, please let me know.
