Most common leak source is the pump ... which can lead to a blown motor control board if the pump shorts out or goes to high electrical resistance ... unless your machine has a protective fuse on the pump harness up at the board. F&P included the fuse as a retrofit with replacement pumps so you should have one if the pump has previously been replaced ... and it's possible fuses were factory-installed toward the end of production of models that take that style of pump. Have a look-see if the pump shows evidence of leaking ... rusting, mineral residue, or outright wet. This style pump went NLA last year due to the source vendor in France shutting down. There are usually a few NIB on eBay but at highly inflated prices ... or used at lower prices but I wouldn't risk a used pump unless there's no other choice. That being said ... there is a seller on eBay offering a retrofit pump of slightly different design but is a direct swap-in. 420235P & 479595 Pump Replacement An odd leaking situation that is somewhat rare is if the diverter valve isn't fully shifting to drain mode, perhaps if obstructed by debris. This allows some water to flow through the recirculation port during drain ... and possibly during spin extraction/drain where it trickles onto the rim of the basket and splatters around inside the cabinet and to the floor. |
