I think that this is from the brief period when Crosley was making appliances, other than laundry, for Bendix. There was a planned merger then Bendix sold to Philco and Crosley dealers were bitterly disappointed at the loss of a laundry line to add to their appliance line. Crosley got their dishwasher from American Kitchen's source: D&M because Bendix was tied up with that and D&M was like the highschooler who would put out for anyone.

Crosley and Bendix were both owned by the Aviation Corporation (Avco). Wikipedia says they were combined in 1951. Apparently this was just an effort to give separate dealers a full line to sell. There’s probably no difference between this and a Shelvador.

But then the merger fell through the hole. Bendix dried off and became Philco Bendix. Crosley went back to being single and ended that way, a former corporate name being floated around to highest bidders for a nameplate on off-brand appliances and electronics.
