N.O.S. Maytag Wringer Parts / AZ

All wringer/mangle rollers hand or power (machine) are sold new with some sort of covering (usually paper), Maytag was no different in this regard.

The covering keeps rollers clean while on shelves, in storage, etc..., but also prevents them from sticking together/causing flat spots.

All wringers/mangles should either be stored with rollers lifted apart (Maytag's owners manual gives directions), or with a piece of clean cloth between the rollers. Again this prevents sticking together and or rollers developing flat spots.

Have to check but *think* this is same seller who advertised NOS Maytag wringer parts on this site awhile back. That and or someone posted a link. Purchased some parts from that person including a black Bakelite agitator that not only came without a spline, but wasn't suitable for use in Maytag wringer washers.

Finally a word in your shell like ear, and please take this advice in the spirit it is being offered; if you aren't dead serious about purchasing parts it might be wiser not to bother.

Several times in past when seller listed their wares here in the group directly, and or information was provided by a member people flocked to the place, telephoned, emailed and otherwise reached out. Only to pester the guy with endless questions about stock, and or walk around their store (again asking all sorts of questions), but in the end not buying one single thing.

Needless to say all that wasted time was not appreciated by sellers, and it left many with a bad taste in their mouths about AW group in general.

Having removed a Maytag wringer head you know yes, they are heavy. NOS properly crated and packed for shipping isn't going to be a small parcel and thus yes, shipping likely will be dear. Now that USPS, UPS, and most other shippers have moved to dimensional package pricing that wringer head likely is going to be expensive to ship because it will require box/crate that is rather long (to accommodate the stem), but not necessarily very tall, but will be heavy.

Again am not picking on anyone, nor seeking to start an argument. Just am stating what has gone on before. There are precious few sellers out there with NOS parts for vintage machines. We want them to be happy working with collectors/members of this group rather than the alternative; rubbishing perfectly good parts because they can't be bothered with the hassle. That has happened (sadly) before...

Checkrate/Likes *Wow!* Having just acquired a J2L, that NOS wringer assembly is almost drool inducing! No amount of cleaning is ever going to make mine look like that! I'm curious about the rollers themselves, with the Maytag markings. Are they wrapped in something from the factory? Granted, I have zero experience with wringers. But every one that I've seen so far, including mine, has had the one black and one light colored roller. I sent the seller an e-mail, but I doubt I'll be taking anything off his hands. Especially since he's in AZ, and I'm in MA. I imagine that wringer, for example, would not be cheap to ship cross country! Barry

Checkrate/Likes *Launderess,* Always a pleasure! And I couldn't agree more. The last thing I would want to do is waste this individual's, or anyone else's time. By the way; I followed your link in the other thread, to check out your J2L. Very nice machine! Mine is not as well preserved, but I will not complain, considering what I paid for it! Barry
