It appears as if the aluminum hub of the fan was designed to stay on the motor shaft, and it has somehow become loose. It may be that using Loctite to bond it to the shaft would make up for the worn bore of the hub. |

Original Howard Industries motor has been replaced with a "universal fit"kit sometime in the distant past and the adaptor hub that has became loose could be loctited as suggested upthread or secured with a dab of epoxy. |
