They are 1987 models. I didn’t know you could still get this color in the late ‘80’s. Definitely had to be the last of its kind. Washer still has the pitman transmission which was replaced with the orbital in late production 1987 or early 1988 models I believe.

Glad someone cared enough about these to keep them up in substantial condition, although fairly mid-to-bottom line are stunning in that last run of Wheat/Gold, I guess to go with whatever other appliances were also in or near that color...

I know these aren't BOL machines, but the asking price isn't all that far off from what this set cost when it was new.  The sellers had better learn to love them because they'll never get the price they're demanding.

80s Harverst MT Pair $750 On Ebay

And they will probably get it with enough promotion.

When you consider that $750 will only get you a new crapy GE electric dryer, this is not a bad deal

Nobody has a bigger hard on for Maytag than myself but these lower MOL 12 series models are worth $150, MAX.

BTW, first gen LAT models still had harvest wheat available as a special order. They're almost as rare as Maytag 906's but I've seen and even posted a handful of links to them over the years on this site.

Dan, thanks for confirming my sentiments.  They're nice, but that low end washer, while capable, isn't worth what they're asking.

There are some good posts in the "scrappers" thread about vintage washers, no matter how perfect they may be, not necessarily being worth the price in the long run to the average buyer.

I would sell that set for at least that much and I would get it. The condition looks nice or near mint.

I could see it. One of those situations where the two together, matching, both working, and in very good cosmetic shape, makes them worth quite a bit more. Just like how people seek out and ship kitchen cabinets from across the country, someone may find these and have the perfect space for them.
