In a whirlpool manual it says that it raises the wash and rinse temps. It also says it adds 0-3 gal of water. When would that water be added? Does it add another rinse? Thanks.

In my Maytag (WP) front loader, it will do a brief cool down with cold water added, and some tumbling before it drains and begins the rinse phase.
Less of a shock going from 130F to 55F.

John, is this for a washer or dishwasher?
