Here is something you don't see every day! Maybe close enough for you Paul or Phil?

It's close enough to be a threat...LOL

It's interesting the Philco name is not included - possibly because Bendix was partnered with Moffatt.

These are fun machines but very, very heavy!

Can't imagine how much that must weigh! Appliance deliverers must have been real he-men back in the day.

1957 CGR-C Bendix Duomatic

This would be a pre-Philco made 1957 Bendix Duomatic, made before the end of year in 1956.

A handful of these have popped up over the years, as well as the later Philco-Bendix badged Duos. Everything about this looks as though it was a US made Duo, but a quick look at the tag would confirm. The 'C' in the US model number indicates the Custom line, vs the base CGR with the three control knobs at the rear.

The brochure claims a shipping weight of 455 pounds, non crated at 405! Still more than a handful and this one looks like it may still be in a basement.

If this was somewhat closer to the Midwest I'd jump all over it. The back lens doesn't look as cracked up as the one I found many moons ago.

Ben
