What is the third pulley used for in the Westinghouse washers

WH 3 Belt FL washers have 7 Pulleys

Their TL washers have two plus an idler pulley to maintain belt tension.

Emm, okay thanks John L. I wish there was a way to increase the spinning speeds without the higher agitation

Increasing Spinning Speeds On WH TL Washers

Hi Harry, try installing a Variable speed motor like Robert did on his 1958 GE washer.
