Looks great! Now, remember to use the self-clean cycle before the oven gets too dirty!

Stove next to Refrigerator

philcobendixduo's profile picture
I never thought putting the refrigerator and the stove right next to each other was a very good idea when it comes to kitchen design.
If the cooktop or oven(s) are in use, it certainly must add a heat load to the refrigerator no matter how good the insulation.
I guess sometimes, this arrangement just can't be helped.

Yay For Your New Range

That coffee maker should be used on a smaller burner and in general you should reduce the use of the RF burner if you want the MWO to last very long.

While having the stove next to the ref is not ideal it really does not make the ref work much harder because it is probably not hot more than an hour a day. The biggest risk is if a large pot is used on either left burner on a high flame it will get the foam insulation so hot behind the wall of the refrigerator that it will melt and then the ref will get condensation on the outside and loose efficiency.

Given the kitchen design with the range next to the ref and under an OTR-MWO only an induction range should have even considered for this layout.

Nice looking Stove:

. I love the 5 burner configuration. Do you have the flattop grill that goes over the middle burner? That is what it is designed for.

I have that same fridge only Kenmore branded.

I agree with John. best to use a lower flame on the left side when possible to not hurt the insulation in the REF. Otherwise enjoy man, I miss my gas stove. Although I am getting used to the glasstop.

Convection!

I too like the 5 burner configuration, but I really like there is a convection fan in the oven! It’s wonderful for baking / roasting many things, but not all things (not recommended for pies or cakes), for example it works beautifully for baking multiple trays / racks of cookies all at the same time.

FYI, the general rule, if you’re not aware, is you either reduce the temp by 25° OR shorten the cooking time by 10-15 mins, depending on what you are baking.

Enjoy!

First broiling:

Can’t do much about the “regular use” burner either being in the back on the left, vs. up front on my old range, this one most-convenient to use is a larger-size next to the fridge, and I never even thought about the excess heat which would have mainly been the mostly unused rear one on the old range affecting the insulation in the fridge, of which I need near for convenience, but you can picture someone in front of it with the door open when something needs to immediately come out of the oven...

The timer stays on constantly versus the three intermittent beeps on the old one, so I will definitely be using that, in lieu of the one on the microwave...

I need the counter space, so an over-the-range microwave, even over a gas range, I have to contend with, where so far, only the bulbs for illuminating the cooktop after the filaments kept breaking from excessive door opening and closure, seem to be the only thing detrimental there...

Gonna keep up more good work—albeit even being out of the house, for work, shopping, needing regular amounts of sleep, listening to my music and dealing with fatigue—to make more great meals, mostly demanded by my daughter, vs.my own simpler, healthier needs...

Broiling Foods That Have Fat

combo52's profile picture

Well you may not have this range long,

You should always use a proper two piece broiler pan with a area below for the grease to run into so the whole thing does not go up I flames. [ refer to the instruction book that came with the range ]

Manufactures I an effort to save a few dollars are not including them with most ranges anymore, but they are easily avabible at thrift stores etc.

Well, here's what I need to get the hang of using, then:

I made it worth it to take out the plates I had breakfast on to fit one piece, (top piece?) while the other (the tray) easily fits in on the lower rack's right...

I thought this neat little pan I bought was easier to use for hotcakes than the griddle insert, and stores seem to have no electric griddles to replace mine that broke, and I just realized that that’s what that fifth burner is still used for...
