Waiting to have the spanner nut unlocked I was examining the outer tub and found the outer tub lips to be rusted and consumed by humidity and water seeping into...all enhanced by the force applied by the clamps as the tub collar ring is held by the snubber pad.
The collar ring and its seals already went into a cycle in the DW with vinegar and became brand new. Now when I will manage to take the dear outer tub out, any tips for how to address and fix these holes? I see one spot got a bump and probably the previous owners welded it in the past or maybe it was a defect. I was thinking about sanding down rust and filling holes using a epoxy putty or epoxy liquid stainless glue that i will sand down smooth when dry by putting a rubber round band under the lip holding a piece of plastic food wrap that i will then leave glued to create a base. Clamps eventually will go right next the area trated. Do you think it will work? |
