Yes, I've purchased four Miele front loaders; transported them upright without shipping bolts installed. They all work just fine. Well, the three (one 1918, two 1065, I tested work OK. One more (1065) is still being stored in the carport, have never run it. But based on the others, it should be fine.

These are heavy machines that may take more than a couple of full grown adults to move. I tried to tilt the machine back only to find out how heavy it was. |

Yes, one must be careful with the washers. However I don't recall having a problem. Maybe I asked the seller to help with the loading. And maybe unloading was easier. Probably also used moving blankets.
One nice feature of the Miele washers is that they don't use concrete weights. Instead they use cast iron weights. Probably saves on space inside the cabinet. And looks better to the repairman. |
